I'm Emily — a senior product leader with 20+ years of experience across the software development lifecycle. I currently lead a team of five product managers, and my career has spanned RegTech, Financial Services, FinTech, Telecommunications, Transport & Infrastructure, Property, Education, Manufacturing, Defence & Government, and Technology Consulting: environments where compliance, scale, and operational reality shape every decision.

I started out as a Business Analyst — and I was good at it. I've worked as a consultant with clients like Siemens Financial Services, Mitsubishi Electric, and Lloyd's of London, and got very comfortable translating complexity into something teams could actually act on. But I kept finding myself with opinions about the why behind the requirements I was documenting, so I made the move into product to be the one making the calls. That shift gave me something most PMs don't have: a deep, ground-level understanding of what it actually takes to go from ambiguity to something shippable.

Since then, I've been part of two startups that were acquired — which means I understand what it looks like to build product in environments where the stakes are real and the runway isn't infinite.

I'm originally from the UK and moved to Australia 14 years ago, so I've also navigated the experience of building a career across cultures, time zones, and two genuinely different ways of doing business. I have two young kids, which means trade-offs, priorities, and doing more with less aren't abstract concepts — they're Tuesday.

The throughline across all of it has been helping talented people build the judgment that separates good ICs from genuinely effective product leaders.

Alongside mentoring, I'm building and launching an AI startup of my own — which keeps me close to the realities of zero-to-one product work, fundraising conversations, and shipping under genuine uncertainty.

Helping others is not a side hustle. It's the work I find most meaningful — and the work that keeps my own practice sharp.
